This is my niece Ashlee. She’s the cutest little girl in the whole wide world. She’s seven, dances, sings, plays guitar, and is even writing some of her own music. I just got off the phone with her and our conversation broke my heart.

A few days ago a bunch of boys pushed her into the mud and said she looked better there. Apparently its been happening all year. Them calling her ugly.

When I used to ask her, “Who’s the prettiest girl ever?” Shed quickly and confidently giggle and answer, “Me!”

When I asked today she said, “Not me…” and when I prompted her, she told me she now believes she’s ugly.

I’m creating a book for her, with this picture on the front and anyone who believes she’s beautiful written inside along with whatever comments they may have.
